We provide detailed condition assessments of rail infrastructure including track, culverts, bridges and road crossings for Queensland's sugar milling regions. Our services cover the full lifecycle, from formation design and ALCAM crossing assessments through to on-site inspection, instrumentation-based condition assessment and RPEQ certification during remediation projects.
Rail Formation Design
We provide RPEQ-certified rail formation design and certification for a range of rail types including cane rail, stacker reclaimers and rail-mounted gantry cranes. Rail formations vary significantly by application, some are soil-based formations requiring ballast design, compaction and drainage, while others are concrete foundations where the rail is mounted directly to a structural slab or beam. We design and certify both, accounting for the specific loading configurations, rail gauge and operational requirements of each system.
Culvert and Bridge Inspection
We provide inspection and assessment services for rail bridges and culverts using specialised instrumentation to accurately determine remaining service life. This includes strain measurement under live loading to verify actual load capacity,core sampling, concrete NDT for deterioration assessment, and pile integrity testing for substructure condition.
Results are used to support maintenance planning, load restriction decisions and remediation design, allowing asset owners to make evidence-based decisions rather than replacing assets prematurely.
To date we have undertaken in excess of 300 bridge inspections and provided detailed structural modelling, remediation design and RPEQ certification for over 40 rail bridges across Queensland.
