Engineering Design & Drafting Services Qld

Pyramid Engineering provides RPEQ-certified engineering design, structural modelling, technical drafting and certification across Queensland. 

RPEQ Certification & Engineering Forms

We prepare Form 15 (Compliance Certificate), Form 12 (Aspect Inspection Certificate), and other documents relative to our RPEQ status. We strongly encourage you to source and engage a building certifier for all commercial and industrial projects from the very beginning of the project as there is an intensive amount of legislation and compliance requirements relative to the local government authority ( i.e council) to adhere to.

Structural Analysis

We perform structural analysis of all structure types including concrete, steel and timber. From diagnosing the reason for cracks in a wall of a house, to understanding the remaining service life of a concrete bridge using every tool at our disposal to back up our findings. 

Finite Element Analysis

We use finite element analysis (FEA) to model complex structural behaviour and identify hot spot stresses before attending site. On-site strain measurement is then performed to confirm and calibrate the model against real-world data, giving confidence that the analysis reflects actual structural behaviour.

Piling Design

We provide piling design for bored piers, driven piles, concrete piers and screw pile foundations in accordance with AS 2159 (Piling — Design and Installation), AS 3600 (Concrete Structures) and AS 5100 (Bridge Design). Design is supported by our modelling software and verified for integrity by using our site instrumentation.

Industrial Slabs

We design industrial slabs for warehouses, factories and heavy vehicle areas in accordance with Australian Standards.
Our trade background means we focus on constructability — producing designs that are straightforward to build, with clear expansion joint layout and realistic load assumptions.

Retaining Walls

We provide RPEQ-certified retaining wall design for concrete sleeper, blockwork and timber walls for residential and commercial projects. Where an existing retaining wall has failed or is under question, we use specialised instrumentation to assess its condition and remaining capacity, allowing us to certify the wall or design a repair rather than defaulting to full replacement. Road & Rail Bridges

We provide RPEQ Bridge inspection,structural design and certification for road and rail bridges in accordance with AS 5100. We frequently work with older bridges where replacement is not yet warranted using on-site strain measurement, material sampling and Concrete NDT to assess the true condition of the structure prior to providing RPEQ certified remediation plans.

Commercial & Industrial Buildings

We provide structural design and RPEQ certification for commercial and industrial buildings including structural steelwork, concrete frames and portal frame sheds. Our practical background ensures designs are buildable and compliant with Australian Standards and the National Construction Code

Structural Steelwork

We design and certify structural steelwork for industrial and commercial applications in accordance with AS 4100 (Steel Structures). Where existing steelwork is under assessment, we use on-site strain measurement and  third party NDT to determine actual load capacity of the structure rather than relying on conservative desktop assumptions alone.

Industrial Tank Slabs

We design and certify industrial tank slabs for chemical, water and fuel storage applications in accordance with Australian Standards.
