Engineering Sub-Consultancy & Technical Support

If you are an engineering consultancy performing work for a client and require a third party to provide inspection and measurement services using our array of instrumentation and tooling, we are happy to assist.
Given the large amount of site tools and equipment we carry, we are often self-sufficient. Works are set up under a sub-consultancy agreement in order to ensure correct structure and coverage.
We often work under confidentiality agreements and remain solely a non-competitive technical resource.
We do not offer design and construct services under sub-consultant arrangements.

Services Provided:
Most of the work we do in this space is focused on utilising our instrumentation to help you build a bigger picture.

Strain Measurement & Structural Load Monitoring

Strain measurement provides engineers with invaluable insight into real-world stress and loading. This is essential during fatigue calculations and modelling.

We scale our equipment for each project to suit your requirements. Data is commonly provided in Excel format showing strain and corresponding stress in order to allow you to compare to modelling results.

The benefit is twofold. Quite often the site-derived stress is lower. You also get an opportunity to measure areas that are on the limit. This lets you back up your desktop assessment with real-world measurement

Concrete Inspection, Testing & Integrity Analysis

Our testing services use a combination of NDT instruments and physical sampling. We can send samples to NATA-accredited laboratories and provide you with the required results for reporting purposes.

Commonly for other consultancies, we perform the following:

  • Half Cell Testing to determine level and extent of reinforcement corrosion
  • Reinforcement cover and bar size determination
  • Concrete scanning and compilation of 3D map using registered surveyor
  • Carbonation testing to measure extent of deterioration
  • Strain measurement of structures under load
  • Ultrasonic pulse velocity for measurement of Homogeneity and crack depth
  • pre pour inspections and reporting for consultancies working in different regions

Technical Core Drilling & Structural Sampling

For sampling and testing activities - in particular compressive strength testing it gets easy get it
wrong if you try to just send a concrete company to take samples.
See how
we do it to understand why.

Sampling is Performed for
  • Compressive Strength Testing
  • Carbonation
  • Modulus of Elasticity
  • Calibration of Schmidt Hammer

Piling Design, Testing & Certification

We provide inspection and testing for newly installed and existing piles.

  • Third party piling attendance
  • Low Strain Integrity Testing
  • Underwater Inspection
  • Testing and sampling
